The Work Behind the Work
Design is often seen through the finished result: a mark, a system, a space, or a page that has already entered the market. Before that result, however, there is a great deal of work that rarely appears in public. RDA's daily practice is made of discussion, observation, testing, judgement and repeated collaboration. We record these real fragments not to present a fixed formula, but to show how a design decision gradually becomes clear over time.
For us, the studio is not a quiet room waiting for inspiration. It is a working environment in motion: materials are spread out, questions are reframed, and the team moves between screens, paper, samples and space. Each conversation makes the project more precise; each act of editing brings a brand closer to what it truly needs to say.
01 / A Stable Core
Since 2010, RDA has focused on brand design. We have kept a stable core team while bringing in new specialist knowledge, allowing accumulated judgement and fresh perspectives to remain within one working system. Stability does not mean standing still. It gives the team a reliable base from which to question each new project properly.
Over the years, our work has moved from early collaborations with small and medium-sized private companies into the working context of industry leaders and global brands. Today we can provide an integrated response across brand positioning, visual identity, spatial experience and digital communication, while remaining attentive to the detail of every individual exchange.
02 / International by Nature
RDA has carried an international outlook from the beginning. The founders started their careers in the internet and international trade industries, developing a direct and long-term understanding of cross-border communication, business relationships and cultural difference. For us, international thinking is not a layer of translation added at the end; it is present from the moment a question is first raised.
Today we hold ourselves to the standards required by international clients: language must be precise, perspective must remain open, and a solution must continue to work across different markets. We bring the capability of a China-based team to the making of brands with an international ambition.
03 / Working Together
Collaboration is one of RDA's core strengths. Years of industry experience and project work have shaped a clear yet flexible method: understand the business problem first, then organise the design task; establish the basis for judgement before moving into formal exploration. When people with different professional backgrounds work together, the answer does not stop at the visual surface.
Technology and AI tools are changing many details of the work, but judgement remains the essential part. We integrate technology into the process to improve efficiency, organise information and expand possibilities, while preserving the accuracy that comes from face-to-face discussion, hands-on testing and looking at things together.
04 / Essential by Design
RDA follows a rational, minimalist design position and has developed its own working process around it. We believe good design is not about placing more forms into a project. It is about research, selection and organisation: finding the expression that most clearly supports the underlying business.
In brand identity, this means building a visual system that stays clear, useful and able to grow. It responds to today's communication environment while leaving room for future media. We test the same central judgement on paper, screens, spaces and physical materials until a brand develops a consistent character with a life of its own.
05 / Energy Sustains the Work
A healthy studio culture matters as much as excellent service; the two are foundations for one another. Design requires long periods of concentration, but it also asks the team to remain curious, honest and receptive to life. That is why we value energy beyond the desk: sport, the outdoors, travel and the activities that return us to the physical world.
These experiences do not become a graphic or a layout directly, yet they influence how we understand people, spaces and ways of living. A team with real energy is more able to stay open inside a complex project, and more able to offer clients judgement that feels precise, human and alive.
06 / Technology as an Opportunity
In a time when AI is reshaping every industry, RDA treats new technology as an opportunity rather than a threat. Creative work still needs exceptional people who know how to use the most advanced tools; integrated brand services still need specialists with cultural awareness, industry sensitivity and the ability to understand context.
We do not treat AI as an answer that replaces judgement. We place it where it is most useful in research, experimentation and production. Tools can make work faster, but they cannot replace an understanding of business, culture and people. The advantage created by professional experience and technical ability together is still not something that can be copied easily.
07 / Trust Over Time
Over more than a decade, we have worked with hundreds of companies and brands. Many of those clients have become friends and long-term partners. A project ending does not have to end the relationship; a new business, market or stage often opens the door to another conversation.
We believe trust is built on professional responsibility and integrity. Professionalism means taking responsibility for the problem and staying attentive to detail. Integrity means expressing a judgement clearly and acknowledging limitations honestly. Only then can design enter the long-term work of a company rather than remain a one-time delivery.
